A little about Karaite Judaism

"Search the Scripture well, and do not rely on anyone's opinion"

Karaite Judaism derives its laws soley from the "TaNaKh". It is the sole religious authority and we therefore deny any human additions to the word of G-d, such as the Oral law: "You shall not add to the word which I have commanded you, neither shall you diminish from it" (Devarim 4:2).

Karaite Judaism also rejects the notion that the Rabbis and/or a Rabbanut has the sole authority for interpretering the Bible, as it is the responsibility of every Jew to study the Torah and then decide for him/herself the correct interpretation of G-d's commandments, since we are responisble for our own actions.
